1099 Installation Technician
Position will involve:
Installing and upgrading Internet antenna systems. Prefer experience with cat5 cable and connectors, Internet antennae connectors including weatherproofing
Climbing heights that may exceed 30 feet in most weather conditions
A mix of indoor and outdoor activity to install wireless Internet service for customers. Perform maintenance and provide technical support to those customers as assigned
The 1099 Installation Technician is responsible for the installation and maintenance for the following duties:
Uses problem-solving and technical skills to install wireless Internet equipment
Evaluates job site to assess optimal placement of equipment and communicates with customers / management to review the installation process
Troubleshoots systems to determine the appropriate resolution for reported problems with usage
Provides customer education regarding system usage
Maintains good grooming standards as well as the highest quality of service is provided to promote superior customer satisfaction
Adheres to safety guidelines and requirements
Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and the ability to learn and perform required duties
Working knowledge of Internet (or satellite) installation services preferred, but not required
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required
A background check and drug test will be preformed as part of pre-employment
Skills and Qualifications
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
Must also be able to write simple correspondence, effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
Physical ability to climb ladders and work on roofs and in attics
Ability to use hand tools including drill, cable crimper, caulking gun, etc
Able to communicate well with customers
Current drivers license and clean driving record
Physical Demands:
Applicant must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Must be comfortable working in small spaces and/or various heights
Applicant must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and will be required to climb ladders in a safe manner
Nice to have:
Working knowledge of Windows and Mac OSs.
Basic network skills (switches, routers, bridges, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, static routing)
RF technology and wave propagation knowledge
Pay is set per job and work performed. The more you work the more you get paid. Must provide own truck, equipment and insurance. Full equipment list is available on request.
